I'd like to adopt this approach to winter. I always find it hard and I've even found myself saying 'oh no we're now on the slide into shorter days' - already imagining the time away. So thank you for this role modelling.

I used to LOVE Summer as a child, it was the quintessential of freedom and all the holidays were spent waiting for mid-August and the annual village festival. But then, growing up in the countryside, after my best friends moved to another town, Summer started meaning loneliness and the increasingly humid and hotter weather during the years forced me indoor more than Winter and it made me realize that my body wasn't built for that. For some reason, I feel more disconnected with nature during Summer than during Winter. Thank you for sharing this new perspective of yours, it's very inspiring!

Hi Alice, thank you for sharing that. I also find it much harder to connect with nature in the summer. I find it hard to stay out in the heat. But I’m trying to find those moments in summer where I can feel connected. Admittedly, the list isn’t as long as other seasons, but by focusing on just those few things, I find myself in the moment more and not wishing it away! I hope it helped in someway :-)

I agree with every word of this! I feel exactly the same about summer. It’s never been my favourite season but as I get older I’m terrified of wishing anything away so am finding ways to love all of it. Your list of Summer things is beautiful 💫
