I just loved this piece Jo. So much that I came back to find when I had more time to comment properly. I feel like I have read a lot about the moon over the years and also felt its pull in my life, but there were a lot of new learnings in here for me. Loved the tarot symbolism and of course the quote from the wonderful Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
Thank you Catriona 🤍, thats lovely to hear and I’m so delighted that you found something new! The moon’s symbolism is so multi-layered I often wonder if we’ll ever fully understand the plethora of meanings. But that’s also what makes me love it. 🌝
This is so interesting. I like the idea of knowing the moon is there even if you can’t see it. I always mean to mark each full moon, to know it’s coming, maybe even to swim beneath one, but I haven’t made it happen yet….
The swim under a full moon sounds quite incredible! I hope you do get to experience it one day. I’ve never done it, but I’d love to hear about it when you do :-)
It’s amazing to think that such large structures of nature like mountains can be hidden at certain times of the year. I can imagine how surreal it must be to not have them in your regular view. I would miss them too. I hope that you have some cooler weather really soon Alice, so you get your mountain view back.
I can relate to this. During the hot Summer months I miss the mountains so much, they are hidden behind muggy air and if I'm lucky I see them as a silouette on the horizon, otherwise nothing at all and they are so close! But the heat mist is just too much. While, in colder weather, I can see them very clearly in details and they feel closer than they actually are.

I miss seeing the moon too, it's like a real physical gap. And I can't wait for the darker nights so she shows up again.
Thanks Louise, I’m glad I’m not the only one who misses the moon. It definitely feels like part of the night sky is missing during the summer.
Wishing you many happy nights under its silvery glow when it returns.
